Are you a Middie?
Wednesday, August 15, 2007 5:41:51 PM - Middletown Ohio
from Ann Mort

You need not be a Middletown High School student or even a graduate of MHS. Many of us are transplants from other communities who call Middletown home and are proud of the fine traditions of the Purple and White.

Whatever your connection, it is time to be a Middie—step up and help in this time of need.

With the failure of tax levies, our extracurricular activities – sports, music, drama, academic team, National Honor Society and many other student activities cannot happen unless the costs of the programs (all programs at junior and high school levels) are covered by either donations from supporters or the students and their families.

Yes, it is expensive to run a top notch extracurricular program like Middletown High School offers its students. Yes, we’d rather not be paying those extra fees.  Yes, we need to do this to maintain the quality of education necessary to graduate full members of society who can go on to their chosen careers or higher education with a well-rounded high school experience.

Now is the time, not next week, not next month, but NOW.

Help fund a Middie – Send your donation to help lessen the burden on individual students.

Donations will be added to the extracurricular fund which will be used to lessen the fees for all activities and all students. Regardless of what the final figure might be, there will be a need to help fund a portion of the extra curricular costs. Many students cannot afford any co-pay amount.

There are many fund-raisers going on – but nothing beats good cold cash/check/credit card payments.

Remember what those extra curricular experiences meant to you when you were in high school?  Even if you weren’t part of a group, chances are good you attended the functions and called it a vital part of your social life.  Lets make sure this group of Middies gets that same chance.

We thank you and your Middies thank you.

“Once A Middie, Always A Middie”
