Both the Got Art display along Central Avenue and the Light Up Middletown drive-through fantasy light display in Smith Park are busy places.
Visitors to either of the events seem to be also visiting the other while in the downtown area.
During the week of 11/23, more than 50,000 vehicles traveled the Got Art display area.
During the first week of Light Up Middletown, beginning November 25, volunteers counted 2,609 vehicles with 8,810 people touring the Light Up display. The survey taken at the Light Up Middletown gate shows that 77% of visitors are from Butler County, 13% from Warren, 5% from Montgomery, 2% from Preble and the remaining 3% evenly split between other Ohio counties and other states.
While no survey is taken at the Got Art display, observers report many vehicles suddenly pulling off to the side of the street to get a better look at the art in the shop windows and several artists have reported sale of their displayed items. For specific artist information, pick up a Got Art brochure at area businesses or at the Light Up Middletown gate booth.
Both displays continue through New Year’s Eve, every day, regardless of the weather, including holidays. Light Up is open 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Got Art is on display 24/7.
