Balloon Shuttle Announced |

Guests visiting the Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival in Middletown this weekend, August 1,2,3 will be offered free shuttle bus rides from downtown parking lots to the entrance to Smith Park, site of the event.
Ohio Challenge organizers have made arrangements to have Middletown school buses traveling from the Smith Park entrance on Tytus Avenue, south on Main Street, east on First Avenue, North on Curtis Street, West on Central Avenue, north on Clinton/Verity Parkway and west back onto Tytus to the entrance to the park. Continuous loops will be made throughout the day in the downtown area.
Gates open to the public 2-10 on Friday, 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Hours for the bus shuttle will be 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Noon to 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. An additional bus will be added during peak periods 5-9 p.m.
Shuttle rides are made possible through the sponsorships of Mid-Miami Valley businesses, with Ohio Challenge primary sponsor, MidFirst Credit Union, leading the list.
Ohio Challenge will bring together 30 of the top hot air balloon pilots for five competition flights (weather permitting) beginning Friday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. Throughout the three days, a wide variety of entertainment will be available at Smith Park. Admission is free. On-site and nearby parking is $5 – a one-time fee for the weekend event.
