Berachah Church Spring Project |

The City of Middletown will once again be partnering with Berachah Church and other
community churches in a spring repair project. As you may remember, Berachah and the other
churches made property maintenance code repairs to 50 houses in the Douglass area last
spring. Code enforcement work has continued throughout the year and they are working their
way down to the hardest properties in Douglass to return to code compliance. Some are still
foreclosed and abandoned. Some are being taken to court to force the owner or landlord to
make repairs. Berachah's Hands and Feet ministry will be making substanital renovations to 3-
4 homes at the end of April that require extensive exterior repairs and the homeowner lacks
the financial and/or physical ability to undertake the repairs needed. The city will be utilizing
the CDBG Volunteer Improvement Program to provide the materials to be used for repairs, and
the participating churches will be supplying the labor necessary to complete the renovations.
As with last spring, many local businesses are donating food, water, and other needed items to
make this project a success.
