with Maria Langendorf recently featured Mark Hecquet, the first Executive Director of the Butler County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Christy Harp, Director of Marketing, BCVB.
Mr. Hecquet explains that the BCVB has a larger budget and a staff of 5 people to work with. "We are out there in the country promoting Butler County as a destination." said Mark Hecquet." The BCVB has taken over Middletown's Convention and Visitors Bureau efforts.
Show host, Maria Langendorf asks what happens to the Middletown grant money program? Which includes MidFirst Ohio Challenge, Light Up Middletown, and Middfest International among other high profile organizations in Middletown.
"We have actually partnered with Middletown... and undertaken sales and marketing for Middletown. This has allowed them to increase their pool of money available for grants," said the BCVB Director.
Christy Harp explains that Butler county was maintaining the Middletown Convention and Visitors Bureau website until April of 2008 when the site was integrated into the Butler County Visitors website.
