Community Comments are gone from TV Middletown (Video)
Thursday, June 21, 2007 11:41:57 AM - Middletown Ohio

Ever since city council relegated community comments to an un-televised private session prior to city council meetings, the public has been left with a void. Coming soon, 'Community Comments' on MiddletownUSA.com will hope to fill that void..

I understand why city council found this portion of the broadcast to be difficult and there certainly were abusers but it did give the community a chance to hear the conerns of the citizens and they were from people willing to show up in person, state their name and address, with a pre-written statement to air issues that concern all of us. Unlike other opinions that can be found in the Middletown area that are anonymous and make the whole community sound sometimes kind of foolish I felt that those who took the time to stand behind their comments were the heart of the community. Everyone had an opporunity to be heard and most of the time their comments were important to the majority of us. I look forward to and will be a supporter of the return of citizens comments on this web site and to those ends will provide video recording facilities to those who do not have the ability to create their own. My hope is that there will be constructive dialog and give and take on the issues that we as a community need to know about and have our thoughts heard on. I look forward to assisting in making this site available to those who have concerns and are willing to be seen here stating those concerns for all of us to benefit from.
