Council Candidate Anita Scott Jones
Sunday, November 4, 2007 11:56:34 AM - Middletown Ohio
by Bill Rogers

a Rumford Production

Anita Scott Jones thinks that maybe some voters don't entirely understand her as a candidate, but she feels she speaks for the average Joe. While she isn't from Middletown, she has lived here for many years and her husband and his family are from Middletown, and through them she has the blessing of Middletown.

"I think the one thing that people do not want to be is ignored and overlooked. I won't ignore you, I will return your phone call. If I don't know the answer, I will try to guide you in the direction -- I think that's the best a leader can do, is lead, guide and direct."

"The power lies with the people. If your leaders are not doing the job, vote them out of the office and put new leaders, give them the opportunity, if they don't do it, vote them out."

It's unfortunate she's not running for mayor. Either way, I have to endorse her for her diplomacy and logic. Nice job Anita!

I agree, I had not planned to video tape the Sorg forum and was asked last minute to do it. I too found myself wondering why Anita wasn't running for mayor, she displayed more leadership talent in ten minutes than I have seen from any other candidate. She fended off controversial provoking questions from the audience with fair honest responses. I did not know much of her before this forum and I am glad I got to meet her and hear her speak. What a gem, we need people like this, true leaders. She says "I show up, I get involved and I work" I love it. Anita has an MBA and three years of law school behind her yet calls herself an average Joe and has concerns for "the average Joe"! I think she is one of the best picks!

(My own opinion) Having met her in person, anyone that will become rude and throw they're position in office around like we need to bow to them or owe them something does not need to be in the position she is in. In my opinion she has displayed behavior that is irrational, displaying anger and rudness towards people not deserving of it. I would suggest charm school but I doubt that would even help. We do not need public officals that carry them selfs in that manner.
