In an effort to make classrooms safer, the Ohio Department of Education has publicly released a database listing teachers, coaches, administrators and other licensed educators who were investigated and reprimanded by state officials. The database only lists officials who have been investigated and found guilty of misconduct, and does not display ongoing investigations.
The web site lists over 1,700 educators and gives a brief description of their misconduct. Punishment for misconduct on these cases ranges from written reprimands, to suspensions, to permanent revocation of teachers' licenses.
To search the database, visit the Ohio Department of Education website where it is located. You can search by any of 4 fields. For a full listing of your districts' teachers who have been reprimanded, simply type in your district name.
