Kevin Macpherson’s reflections on a pond will be held at the Community Arts Center. May 15, 2009 will be the opening reception which is by invitation only. On May 16th there is a lecture that is $75 and on May 17th a demo that is $95. For a combo package to see both is $150 which includes an invitation to the opening reception.

Sandy Maudlins “No Fear” Watercolor Workshop will be held from April 27th – May 1st from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm daily. This workshop will help you master the many ways to paint on YUPO paper. Using watercolor on YUPO paper will allow the colors to remain very vibrant and lively. The paint does its own thing on the very smooth and slick YUPO surface.  For the regular day the workshop will include a well-organized morning demonstrations that are followed by studio time and a lot of individual help. The tuition fees are $400 for non members and $350 for members.

The new 1st Critique Session will be held on May 2nd 2009. You can to share work with others and to get professional critiquing done by Shelley Sizemore. She asks for no more than two pieces. The time will be from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and will be $5.00 for each person.

The garden tour will be including five area home sites that have inspirational gardens and grounds. The tickets and other information will be available at the Center. There will also be the following theme-related workshops the same weekend as the garden tour; oriental brush painting, ceramic garden stakes, flower arranging and basket making.
