On Wednesday, The Mid-Miami Bar Association will host a dedication of the newly renovated courtroom of Middletown Municipal Court on the first floor of the City Building.
The ceremony will be at 6 p.m.. Wednesday and will be followed by a reception. A presentation will also be included of the first composite photo in nearly a decade of the recently-revived Bar Association’s membership of Middletown-area attorneys.
While his primary courtroom underwent approximately $1 million in renovations, Municipal Judge Mark Wall held court in a smaller third-floor facility for nearly a year. These renovations included major improvements to security, addressing deficiencies noted by an Ohio Supreme Court survey of the facility following prisoner escapes in 2007 and 2008. Wall moved back into his newly renovated courtroom a month ago, just a few weeks before the final touches were completed.
The $1 million renovation was funded by court cost fees paid to the court by defendants.
