MIDDLETOWN PRIDE IN ACTION ANNOUNCES PUBLIC MEETING
The public is invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 28, 5:30-7 pm at Miami University Middletown’s Community Center in Johnston Hall on the campus at 4200 E University Blvd.
Prior to the meeting on the 28th, co-chairs Sam Ashworth and Ann Mort ask that anyone planning or continuing a project in 2009 email information about their project to RMort@cinci.rr.com. A list is being compiled of all projects, large and small that benefit the community. Send name of project, contact person, phone, email and description of project. Those who have no project in mind but are interested in helping should email their interest and will be added to an email distribution list to receive information about opportunities and updates on progress.
“Middletown Pride in Action” has been chosen as the name for the community-wide initiative to reverse the perception of Middletown brought to everyone’s attention by being named the 10th fastest dying city in the US by Forbes magazine. It is hoped that Middletonians will show pride in the community through action.
“We know Middletown is a great community which has many positive things happening every year. This year, 2009, we want to do even more to boost our local economy, clean up our city, promote partnerships and to encourage every individual, club, team, business, church or group to adopt a project or make an existing one 50% better. We expect Middletonians to show their pride in the community through their actions taken during 2009,” said Mort.
Ashworth and Mort thank Miami University Middletown for the generous offer of meeting space and invite everyone to come to the meeting on the 28th to find ways to work together to “make our city the best it can be.”
