Middletown's Finest Police Dogs
Friday, March 21, 2008 1:41:33 PM - Middletown Ohio

by John Beagle

Chief of Police Greg Schwarber introduces the supervisor of the K-9 unit, Sargent Warrick.

The Middletown Police Department has a long history in the area of K-9 handlers. The Middletown Police department received its first dog in 1966. It was actually purchased by the citizens of the community.

Two new dogs and their handlers were introduced to council.

Officer Denny Jordan, with his dog Ajax; and Tim Mehan, with his dog Viper, were on display for council. The dogs are trained to track suspects from the scene of a crime, and to find hidden contraband or drugs. They just completed the 3-month beginning session of their training.
