OHIO CHALLENGE ENTERTAINERS
Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival scheduled for July 21-22-23, 2006 at Smith Park in downtown Middletown will center around the twice daily hot air balloon competition flights featuring Woodrow C. Greenleaf, a giant balloon in the shape of a tree stump thanks to Primary Sponsor MidFirst Credit Union. Another special shape balloon sponsored by Butler Tech will be the giant soccer ball. Throughout the event, Team FasTrax Skydivers will dramatically drop in to show what a competition event is like in their world. They will not only do aerial formations but will show high speed ground level maneuvers and even land in Smith Pond during their Sunday shows.
Along with the many sky shows, there will be entertainment on the outdoor stage and throughout the park.
Friday’s headliner is Jenn Harris, country singer and songwriter who teamed with Kristy Jackson to write “I Salute You” a tribute to our troops. A first CD will be out soon.
Saturday’s musical headliner is P. Ann Everson-Price, who returns to the Ohio Challenge stage to bring a mix of jazz, gospel and blues.
On Sunday, music to watch classic cars by will be provided by two local bands, Blooz Katz and Swurv.
Other entertaining features of the festival are the arts and craft booths, great festival foods, an authentic Native American group who share the traditions, drum circles and conversations with festival-goers.
A full-fledged carnival is also on site along with a Discovery Center for kids.
Admission is free, daily on-site parking is $5 per vehicle.
