Otterbein Lebanon and Premier Health are partnering to reduce hospitalizations of residents. The Mobile Education Lab (MEL), owned and operated by Premier Health educates health care providers on early recognition and timely management of Congestive Heart Failure. The MEL is an education lab on wheels that uses a human simulator, video presentation, and hands on training. With the MEL the training is more life-like and interactive. The quicker that the primary care provider recognizes trouble, the more effective treatment becomes. “Because heart failure has such serious implications for patients and their families, Atrium Medical Center- Premier Health was eager to partner with Otterbein Lebanon. Our intent is to optimize the health status of the people we serve.” Said Mike Jett, RN, BSN, EMT-P, of Premier Health. Otterbein Administrator, David Zack said “ We are excited about this opportunity to perfect the assessment skills of our nursing staff. Providing expert care that our residents and patients deserve, and their families expect is our highest priority. Otterbein Lebanon is proud to be recognized as a 5 star community by the Ohio Department of Health, and we strive every day to improve the outcomes and the lives of our residents and patients.” The second day of education is Wednesday April 2nd from 7:30-9:30am, 10am-noon, and 1-3pm.
