RADIO CONTROLLED JETS TAKE OFF AT MIDDLETOWN REGIONAL AIRPORT

“Thunder in the Sky” RC Model Jet Event Slated for July 25-27, 2008

MIDDLETOWN, OHIO (July 10, 2008) – B&B Aero will host the HAWKS (Hamilton Area Wireless Kontrol Society) RC Model Jet Club “Thunder in the Sky” event on July 25 – 27, 2008 at the Middletown Regional Airport, 1707 Run Way. The event is open to the public.

Show times are from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday. Cost is $4 per adult; children 12 and under admitted free with paying adult. Entrance to show is located at the north end of Smith Park. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

“We’re very excited about the wide variety of aircraft we expect to participate in this year’s event. We think the public will be amazed by the realistic look, performance and sound of these jets,” says event organizer Gary Jefferson. Aircraft slated to appear include an F-18 Hornet; several A-4s, F-86 Sabre and an F-100 Super Sabre, among others. A large-scale 1011 Tri-star cargo plane also will appear.

HAWKS is a radio controlled airplane club located in Hamilton, Ohio that offers an AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) sanctioned flying site with premiere runway and flying areas. The organization also offers free training for new pilots during the daylight savings months. For more information about the event, contact Gary Jefferson at 513-539-0605. For more information about HAWKS, visit www.hawksrc.org

B&B Aero Services, Inc. is the operator of the FBO (Fixed Base Operations) at Middletown Regional Airport, which has the longest runway (6,100 feet) of any non-towered airport in Southwest Ohio. B&B Aero provides host of aviation services including fuel, flight instruction and aerial photography along with aircraft and car rental. It also is the sponsor of many other aviation related events including the upcoming Sept. 20-21 “Wings of Freedom Airshow.” For more information visit www.bbaero.com

It was allsome. Flying rc aircraft is one of my hobby and i saw the article in the paper saturday evening, i was upset because i just only got a chance to see the Sunday show. But i had good time and enjoyed it. Got a lot pictures and videos. Thank you for the all sponsors, all pilots and the Middletown journal for this event. i am looking forward to see it next year too..
