People are talking about Middletown, and while not all the things they have to say are nice, the overall opinion remains positive. Users at MiddletownReview.com rate businesses and services in the Middletown area with either a thumbs up or a thumbs down - or, as MiddletownReview.com has paraphrased, "Worth the Buck" or "Just Plain Sucks". After nearly 200 businesses and services reviewed, Middletown is 60% Worth the Buck.
The rules for The Middletown Review are simple. You can review anything in the Middletown area as long as it falls within one of four categories: Entertainment, Food, Shopping, or Services. Adam Lewis of Xponex Media & Web Services, creator of The Middletown Review says that people don't always understand the guidelines.
"Sometimes people will submit government services or other things that don't really fit the site dynamic. For instance, a user tried to submit Middletown Police for review. It doesn't work. Comparing and contrasting the quality of one city's police force to another's isn't what this site is about. You can't review police, the fire department, city council, or the school board. These are people, not businesses or services. Not to say you can't review any government institutions. One recent submission was the Middletown Library, a government funded entity, but also a perfectly viable subject for review."
Some businesses have received overwhelmingly negative review. With others, the reviewers have been much more positive. Milton's Doughnuts, according to the 10 people who voted and commented, is 100% Worth The Buck. The topics with the most votes seem to lean to the extreme in one direction or another, showing the extreme approval or disapproval their customers have for them. In addition to Milton's, Shaddock's Pizza, Smith Park, K-Mart, the Towne Mall, Danbarry Cinemas and many more businesses have all been heavily reviewed on the site.
In the end, the site shows that the residents of Middletown still like our city. Adam Lewis says that he won't try to influence anybody's opinion either way. "The Middletown Review is neutral. As a born-and-raised resident of Middletown I still love our city, but I encourage you to come share your own opinions and they will be respected, whether they are positive or negative."
