The Middletown School Board voted yesterday to put the $4 million dollars from the school funding renewal levy to use in many ways aside from a return to normal school hours and busing. Other things being restored are:
*Thirty five teachers *Two library mangers *One media specialist *Three assistant principals *Hours for teacher aides, teacher attendants, monitors and library managers *Textbooks Math (grades 6-8) *Textbooks Science (grades 3-5) *Textbooks Social Studies (grades 3-8) *All supplemental contracts *Two custodians *One central office receptionist *One technology technician *Gifted and Talented Enrichment (GATE) *Full time athletic director *Full time athletic director secretary *Extracurricular activities for students who will be reimbursed for fees up to $50.00 *Retroactive pay for coaches and advisors *TV Middletown *Automated phone calls for community outreach and absenteeism *Website
The board's decision on which services and contracts to restore was guided by the results of community input gathered by a survey conducted by Applied Research of Miami University in late October.
