Sunset Pool Demolition
Thursday, June 09, 2011 8:29:47 AM - Middletown Ohio

Our city crews have stepped forward and expressed an interest in doing the bulk of the demolition themselves. If council is amenable to the demo project, we will proceed with the city crews. We simply need a determination on whether or not we want to save the pool. The demolition would include the pools and surrounding concrete areas, pump house, and fencing. The pool house is in good shape and would remain for restroom and shower facilities and storage. The City obtained a rough estimate of $70,000 from a demolition contractor last summer for this work and again, we believe that we can save the bulk of this dollar amount by doing the work in-house.

Just one more reason to be thankful I don't live in Middletown any longer. I feel for the rest of you - your property isn't worth a plug nickle and your fearless leaders don't care. Tear it down! That seems to be the only thing you're any good at.

All you haters are ignorant. Hardly anyone used that pool with the exception of the young foul mouthed punks. I wouldn't take my worst enemy there, let alone my family (especially children). It has been a waste of money for a long time. Yeah it was sort of nostalgic but definitely wasteful. Furthermore you people who are giving the people doing the demolition a hard time are lucky they are on the clock or you might just get your a$$ kicked up and down Belmont St.
