| Paul Pardoner was another famous Middie athlete from the early 1930's. He was a standout running back who went on to play for Purdue and then to the Chicago Cardinals (professional football). He held the collegiate record for successful drop kicks. |

I am doing research for a book I plan to write about Middie basketball in the 1940s and 50s. It all started with the 1944 state championship team that paved the way and now are the fotgotten heroes, including; Paul Lansaw, Will Smethers, Chick Boxwell, Tom Turner, Charles Clickner, and Omar Blevins. I would welcome other names and info. Email me at djones574@bellsouth.net.
