"WHEREAS, the City owns the Rose Furniture Building which currently is estimated to have a negative
value" Negative value? Then, in the next post by Analytical, we find out that the city is wanting to put 300 grand into the property that has been declared as having a negative value. Would any of you put money into a property having a negative value? Would any of you council people or would Mr. Adkins himself want to own or have anything to do with a property having a negative value? Is this a wise use of city taxpayer money? I don't think so. If Robinette's development group wants to revitalize the Rose Building because of some "historic significance" and given it is not worth anything at this point, let his company do the investment and revitalization and take the chance of success with their own money. Why would any councilmember vote for this and why would Adkins want to bother with this issue. Just bulldoze it at the current owners expense as it is uninhabitable (as usual, that would be the taxpayers of Middletown because your leaders are continually using your money without your permission to buy worthless real estate downtown) |

Mr. Adkins and Economic Development Department Staff -
The Rose Furniture LLC project at 36 S. Main Street is another shining example of your city-subsidized "downtown projects". Have these owners also overlooked paying their Butler County property taxes too? Is this their way of thanking the citizens of Middletown for the $300,000 "gift" some four plus years ago? Will this long- lingering deal ever reach the re-construction phase? After all, $1,330.33 in past due taxes is worth noting. |

Don't understand this. How can any downtown property be delinquent in taxes and not be heading to foreclosure? If we "average" citizens were behind on property taxes for any length of time, we would be receiving a delinquent tax notice followed by foreclosure proceedings on our homes, right?
Is the city going to use the taxpayer's money to not only loan their pals money for rehabs but pay their delinquent taxes as well? Is that next on the agenda? Somewhere, somehow, there has to be some illegal activity going on by the city with relation to these sketchy downtown deals being done. Just can't believe all of this activity is above board and legal. |
