Police reports: 24-year-old charged with stealing $400 worth of video games

Dec. 22

An 18-year-old man was arrested at 2:01 p.m. in the 1900 block of Aaron Drive on suspicion of theft. He allegedly stole a half-karat diamond ring from an apartment. The alleged thief is a friend of the victim’s son.

Dec. 23

Two Middletown men, ages 43 and 41, were arrested at 12:23 p.m. near the intersection of North University Boulevard and Sunset Street. The 43-year-old was charged with two counts of drug abuse and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, conveyance of drugs into a detention facility, and a seat belt violation. The 41-year-old was charged with driving under suspension and a seat belt violation, and issued a warning for a broken brake light.

A 29-year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 4:19 a.m. near the intersection of Charles Street and Reinartz Boulevard on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, running a red light, running a stop sign and not wearing a seat belt.

An exterior air-conditioning unit, copper water lines in the basement and parts to the home’s furnace were stolen before 1:18 p.m. from a home in the 800 block of 17th Avenue. The exterior A/C unit appears to be stripped for parts in the yard.

A safe and $500 were stolen before 3:09 p.m. from a home in the 1800 block of North Avenue. The safe was found opened in the neighbor’s yard with the cash inside gone. Access to the home appears to be through a bathroom window.

Two Middletown women, 19 and 28, were arrested at Kohl’s, 6825 Roosevelt Parkway, each on suspicion of theft. The two allegedly stole $126 worth of merchandise.

A 37-year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 11:16 p.m. near the intersection of Grand Avenue and South Highview Road on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, failure to signal a turn and failure to control.

An air compressor, valued at $400, was stolen before 11:56 p.m. from a home in the 100 block of Shafor Street. Someone cut the lock to a garage and stole the compressor.

Dec. 24

A 31-year-old Fairfield woman was arrested at 5:04 a.m. at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., on suspicion of petty theft. Police say she stole $883 worth of merchandise.

A 45-year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 1:07 p.m. at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., on suspicion of petty theft and criminal trespassing. Police say she stole $50 worth of merchandise.

A 32-year-old Middletown man was arrested at 3:02 p.m. at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., on suspicion of petty theft and two Middletown Municipal Court bench warrants. Police say he stole face cream valued at $37.

Someone stole $1,575 worth of tools before 3:48 p.m. from a garage in the 000 block of Shafor Street.

Someone stole two fishing poles, a battery charged and a tool box before 9 a.m. from a garage in the 000 block of Shafor Street. The reported value of the merchandise stolen was $420.

A 24-year-old Middletown man was arrested at 5:43 p.m. at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., on suspicion of petty theft. Police say he stole $436 worth of video games, but $60 worth of the games were damaged and not able to resell them, store officials told police.

Dec. 25

Someone slashed four tires of a truck before 12:41 a.m. in the 2100 block of Arlington Avenue. The victim told police this happened after he got into an argument with a known associate.
