From the International City Management Newsletter
Jacksonville, Florida, Housing Authority Revokes Recent Section 8 Vouchers.

I have not heard of Middletown being notified of reduced funding, but it may be possible in light of the following article.

The Florida Times‐Union (8/12, Conner) reported that "the Jacksonville Housing Authority is revoking housing assistance for 150 families who recently were issued rent vouchers," after it "got late notification of reduced funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, said Larry Gonzalez, who oversees JHA's Section 8 Voucher Program." The authority's shortfall "amounts to about $1.5 million," and Gonzalez "said HUD instructed the Jacksonville Housing Authority to use its reserves to keep funding the program." According to the Times‐Union, "Around the country, the last‐minute cuts from HUD have left Section 8 agencies scrambling.

Some have even had to cut off people already living in subsidized apartments." In Jacksonville, "Gonzalez said he believes that acting quickly to revoke recently issued vouchers will keep the JHA from having to do the same ting."
