Casey Anthony has been found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. The jury declined to convict her of either first degree murder or manslaughter.
The jury found Casey Anthony guilty on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement. Clutching the hand of her defense attorney Jose Baez, Casey Anthony began to sob as the verdict was read. The rest of her defense team stood beside her, also clutching hands. She thanked Baez as she was swarmed by the defense team. Her parents, Cindy and George Anthony, left the courtroom as Judge Belvin Perry read further instructions to the jury and did not join their daughter in the courtroom. Casey Anthony, who sat grim faced throughout the six weeks of testimony, beamed happily as she was fingerprinted in the courtroom for her conviction of providng false information to law enforcement. Sentencing on the guilty counts will be held on 9 a.m. Thursday. | I think anytime there is no cause of death evidence from the body (because it was so decayed) and no murder weapon it would be very hard to prove beyond a doubt that any certain person killed someone else. |

Jury was from another county, a good 1.5 hr from home, been locked up in hotel for a few months, and just wanted to get home. The absolute most impressive prosecution presentaiton I have ever heard as well as rebuttal and using witnesses. The jury was simply: IGNORANT. Did not bother reading jury instructions, and wanted to leave, without Orange Cty consequences.
This defese would have worked with this group of lazy jurors in the Anthony case: (Sad, society has become so stupid they refuse to think even when being sworn to do so---American jurisprudence Lost).

You can bet that the Defense Team will be taking reeeally good care of poor Miss Cayle over the next few years as she receives millions of dollars from the death of her daughter. If you think she was out of control before just wait and see how she will act when she get all this money.... |

This epitomizes the effect of reality tv and the generl dummy down and willingness of individuals to sit on idle on their brain, and wait for everything to be handed to them on a platter to prove innocence or guilt. All it took in Lebanon was for Widner to have been in the same house when his wife died in a bath tub, no motive, no evidence, but highly circumstantial, including the dry body.
The jury in Orlando, out of the Tampa Bay area, 90 miles east, wanted to make money off the fame of being on a jury. Do you make more money on acquital or putting her away? That had this deal cooked long before the end of arguments. Couldn't get one member to stay put and say, no way I cannot convict this woman of at least manslaughter, you just don't duct tape a child's mouth three ways after an "accident."
The degrading nature of the verdict is an insult to the justice system. Mind made up weeks before, lets all get book deals and make $50,000 at least to help out with the bills, and Orlando will be just fine. Nauseating. I only wish one would come forward and a new trial ordered for jury misconduct. What a sham, but becoming increasingly typical in life in the US.
More coverage on this than the poor family of the freshmen femal at Indiana U that has been missing for six weeks, getting no coverage and no boud nor she found, since early June. What a society we live, what a town we reside. Its all about me, me, me....and not about the other. Decentcy and logic have died a sudden death. Lets hope they, and journalism, were given choroform to make the journey a little less haunting.

Heard last night that this woman has announced her desire to adopt a child now that her child has died. A nice convenient statement to make after the acquittal. Playing it to the hilt with a sideshow by the head defense attorney. Has developed into one fine media circus event for evening news fodder. 
This kind of crap reminds me of the Octomom saga. The media will pick up on anything sleezy nowadays just for sensationalism. Sometimes, the national news networks will tell a story ala the National Enquirer at your friendly checkout counter. .......and society just keeps rolling along, accepting whatever is fed to them by the sensationlists. |
