Indoor skydiving coming to MiddletownEd Richter Staff Writer - 6:37 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016Once completed, it will be the tallest such facility in North America and would compliment the skydiving business. The new wind tunnel would allow people to have a skydiving experience in a more controlled environment as well as attract more of the skydiving market and thrill seekers to this destination location. The proposed building would recreate the physics of free-fall by producing a 16-foot column of air so that skydivers can practice for several hours instead of several minutes experienced from a free-fall from a plane. John Hart of Start Skydiving, who submitted the development plan, said he was “very excited” about the project. However, he said the city’s approval of the development plan and height variance was only the first obstacle cleared of many steps that need to be taken. He said the project was in the preliminary stages and that soil samples will be taken to make sure the project is “doable.” “We’re at least a month away from any formal announcement,” he said. “This is very exciting for the city and the community.” Middletown City Manager Doug Adkins said the city is looking forward to working with Start Skydiving to make the facility a reality in Middletown. Indoor skydiving coming to Liberty Center in 2018By Tom Demeropolis – Senior Staff Reporter, Cincinnati Business Courier - Dec 21, 2017, 9:27am An indoor skydiving attraction is coming to Liberty Center next year. iFly Indoor Skydiving is scheduled to open its first Ohio location at Liberty Center, the $350 million mixed-use complex along Interstate 75. The indoor skydiving attraction will be located next to Dick’s Sporting Goods. iFly has flown more than 8 million people in a dozen countries and at seas since launching its vertical wind tunnel attractions in 1998. The company has 67 facilities operating worldwide, with 28 in the U.S. Kevin Cedik, general manager of Liberty Center, said iFly is “an exciting new attraction.” iFly Holdings Inc., which has corporate offices in Austin, Texas, started as SkyVenture LLC. It opened its first indoor skydiving facility in 1999, before rebranding as iFly in 2005. SkyVenture remains the design and manufacturing company for iFly. The closest iFly locations are in Chicago, which has three facilities. At the Chicago iFly in Lincoln Park, the cost of two flights for one person is $69.95. The two-hour experience includes training and 60 seconds of flight time in the vertical wind tunnel. According to the company’s website, “virtually anyone from ages 3 to 103 can fly.” Liberty Center, developed by Steiner + Associates, is located on 64 acres at the I-75 and SR 129 interchange in Liberty Township. It includes more than 800,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertainment, 75,000 square feet of office space, 240 luxury apartments and a 130-room AC Hotel by Marriott. |

Looks like there will be two operations by reading the two articles you posted. One is iFly holdings at Liberty Center and the other is Start Skydiving based in Middletown.
The Start Skydiving information is a bit outdated, I recall j-n articles more recent about a change to make the tower taller. http://www.journal-news.com/news/larger-plans-approved-for-indoor-skydiving-middletown/frnZfy6JN5fdLI5SCSSZcK/
