If you’re looking for the best Bar-BQ in town then there is only one place in town that can give you what you want. A Taste of Memphis, located on the corner of University and Shafor is Middletown's own slice of southern Bar-BQ done the way Bar-BQ was meant to be done.
The carry out only restaurant opened on June 14, 2008 and has been a favorite for some locals since the beginning. During my time spent there (about an hour) several costumers came in and as Marty, one of the regulars at Taste of Memphis, put it, "I come in two or three times a week and there isn't any where in town that gives you the Bar-BQ they have here."
Carl, Chuck and Gary are the Proprietors of the eatery. When asked about their location Chuck told me "it's a busy intersection and brings in business, but our dream is to one day have a sit restaurant." All three owners are from Middletown and still live in the area.
When asked how they came up with the name “Taste of Memphis”, it was made clear that it was Carl's idea. His mother is from Tennessee and when he would go down to visit he found the Bar-BQ there was some of the best he had ever tasted. But as the trips become less and less often, he decided that he needed to bring that style and taste of Memphis to Middletown. After some time spent tinkering with the recipe they came up with the signature taste and knew only one name would work…..Taste of Memphis

Monday thru Thursday 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Friday & Saturday 11:00 am to 9:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
