MIDDLETOWN, OHIO----- Members of the Middletown Convention and Visitors Bureau met this month and elected officers to serve in the coming year. Elected were: Linda Moorman, president, BeauVerre Riordan Studio; Dick Boyea, vice president, Ramada Inn; Frances Sack, secretary/publicity, Otterbein Homes; and Dana Picard, treasurer, Nenni and Co. CPA.

Other MCVB members are Kent Bradshaw, Miami University Middletown Ass. Professor;  Maria Langendorf, Middletown Public Library; Gary Lebo, Middletown School System; Joe Mulligan, community volunteer and graduate student at University of Dayton; Nancy Romero, PRISM; Perry Thatcher, The Manchester Inn & Conference Center and Marie Edwards, Middletown City Board liaison.

Outgoing board members who resigned and will need replacements to complete their terms are Ann Mort, who had served on the MCVB board since 2003 in various capacities to include executive director and board chair. Others members leaving the board are: Kristen Wright, Drury Inn and Eric Melbye, MUM.

 Meeting dates for 2010 have been set and are as follows:  February 25; March 25 – grant meeting 5:30 pm; May 27; July 29; September 30; November 18 and January 27, 2011. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are open to public and will be held in the Middletown City Building starting at 8:30 am.

MIDDLETOWN, OHIO-----The Butler County Development Roundtable, a fundraising professional group, begins its ninth year of offering quarterly networking and educational opportunities to Butler County area development professionals.  First meeting will be held on February 17 at LifeSpan, Inc. Cost to attend is: members $12 and non-members $15.

This year’s quarterly meetings will focus on Development in a Changing Environment reflecting the changes all non-profits organizations are all experiencing at this time. The BCDR organization meets quarterly from 11:30 am (networking opportunity) till 1:30 pm at LifeSpan, Inc., 1900 Fairgrove Avenue (Rt. 4), Hamilton - across from Butler County fairgrounds. Dates and topics for this year’s meetings are February 17, Motivating/Educating Board Members and Staff to Become More Involved with Development; May 19-Financial and Tax Changes that Effect Giving; August 18-Giving Circle and Other Funding Trends; and October 20-Telling Your Story Across Multiple Mediums.   

2010 Steering Committee are: Frances Sack, Otterbein Homes, Chair; Kelli Kurtz, Hamilton Community Foundation, Vice Chair/Membership Development; Ginger Bruggeman, UW of Greater Cincinnati-Middletown Area- Membership; Betsy Hope, Fairfield Community Foundation- Treasurer; Julie Nickell, McCullough Hyde Hospital- Program; John Brunner, Fairfield Community Foundation- Publicity and Duane Gordon, Middletown Community Foundation- 2010 Chair of Butler County National Philanthropy Day.  At Large committee members are: Noel Balster, Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School; Linda Ipp, LifeSpan, Inc.; Maria Langendorf, Middletown Public Library; and Kimberly Munafo, The Great Miami Valley YMCA.
 
The BCDR organization invites area non-profit individuals from Butler, Warren, and surrounding counties to become a member of this regional group at a $30 cost.
