So the Ohio Dept. of Ed. investigated and found that the two Treasurers for Monroe Schools who came before Ms. Thorpe also did the exact same thing? |

I believe you are correct. Kelley started off as a receptionist, she was interested in the treasurer position and took classes to earn her treasurer certification. She inherited a system but her education did not serve her or the school district well in this case.  I have written extensively about this issue here: http://voice.mainstreetmonroe.com/675k-lawsuit-against-former-treasurer_topic2375.html

MiddletownScouter, I thought when you changed treasurers that your entire accounting system would have been checked very carefully (a forensic audit) before another treasure took over the books. Oh well that's how it was done in the old days BC (before computers). |

I agree that's probably what should have been done. I'm just wondering why if the State Dept. of Ed. found that Ms. Thorpe and the previous two Treasurers were all doing the same bad thing why is it that only Ms. Thorpe has been the one sued, publicly maligned, etc. Shouldn't the previous two people holding that position also have their named similarly dragged through the mud for the practices that they put into place and continued?
