a few weeks ago a post on this site asked what we can do. it started out as one of the best threads I've seen in the few months I've been lurking and posting here. it was sad to watch it degrade.
here's your opportunity to do something positive right now and not even have to leave your seat: nominate Middletown for the Google Broadband initiative. but before you go here http://www.google.com/appserve/fiberrfi/ realize that Middletown is at the hub of about 300 miles of optical fiber. it has both private and publicly held network operating centers on a fiber bundle that links education facilities across all of Butler, Warren, Preble, and parts of Clermont, Hamilton and Montgomery counties. read and listen to what Google has to say and decide for yourself. but if you'd like to see more competition for broadband around here - much faster at a better price - then step up and do something. |

the city is on board - they're submitting an RFI.
now what's needed are nominations from the community. |

the city has posted a web site with more information about nominating Middletown for the Google Broadband initiative.
http://google.cityofmiddletown.org/ Please take a minute to read it over, go to the Google website and fill out a nomination. |
