I love Middletown, If we could get the lady that stole that mans beer and these wonderful people in  the same room we could have on e heck of a party.

From the journal...

Less than an hour after being released from Middletown city jail, a Kentucky man was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 2, for allegedly stealing two candy bars and a hat from police headquarters.

Derek Kidd, 32, and his girlfriend were reportedly allowed inside of the department’s detectives section to make a phone call at 10:30 a.m.

While his girlfriend used the phone, Kidd allegedly tried to steal two candy bars and a toboggan-type cap with a Middletown police logo, according to a police report.

Middletown police Maj. Mark Hoffman said an officer caught Kidd attempting to conceal the cap underneath another hat he had been wearing previously.

“They could see it peeking out from underneath his hat,” Hoffman said. “We searched him and found a couple of candy bars as well as two used syringes he managed to put in his pockets out of a container.”

Kidd reportedly told officers he planned to bleach the hypodermic needles for his personal use. He was arrested and charged with theft and possession of drug abuse instruments.

Kidd and his girlfriend had just been released from jail 45 minutes prior, on charges of disorderly conduct stemming from an incident Tuesday. The couple had been in the lobby trying to use other people’s cell phones before gaining access to the detective area, Hoffman said.

Afterward, Kidd’s girlfriend “was crying and asked what her boyfriend did,” Hoffman said. “I said he was arrested for being stupid.”

Sounds like Middletown city leadership school candidates to me. How about Kohler's replacement for Planning Director?
