I heard someone ask what houses had been demoed in Middletown and what money was used to to complete the projects. I sent out an email and the above is what came back, hope it helps.

Hermes these are hardly homes you would even want to keep your dog in.  They are for the blighted abandoned homes.

We had $100,000 set aside in CDBG Funds for demo of property.
Where did the CDBG money go?
Why are we using all this NSP money for demo?

wasteful - I'm very familiar with some of these houses and they are/were not in that bad of shape. Most were probably close to 100 years old but some could sustain life. I think the biggest reason for demo is some of these were no doubt known drug houses and owners had abandoned them for whatever reasons.
 
Doesn't matter demo is better than having them used by drug users or burnt down by fire bugs or homeless people.
