What do you think were the top stories of 2009, as they pertain to Middletown and MiddletownUSA.com. What is the one story you read here that either shocked you or made you laugh.

randy- I'll get 'er started as to top stories: JMO

1. Towne Mall area decline
2. New "gateway" to the city by I-75
3. New, younger councilmembers- Marconi being defeated-Armbruster being retained- shocker.
4. Abundance of Section 8 revealed-program neglected
5. Council/city manager with get tough program on properties
6. Stevie Price being asked to leave
7. Actually someone in town that will admit to being a Bengals fan
8. Middletown football success
9. Armco buildings by General Offices being torn down
10. No one new running for school board and only incumbants from which to choose.
11. The "train" possibly coming to Middletown and the property games played with Duncan Oil
12. Controversy with the pawn shops as to operation and colors on the buildings
13. Continued razing of building after building, particularly in the downtown area
14. Gilleland games with the shuffling of personel within the city building
15. Potential decline in population due to poor operation/poor decision-making/lack of opportunities/poor schools. Poor image/reputation of town
16. Continual trend of businesses closing up shop- Barbeque Junction, K-Mart, Rex, etc.
17. Parking lot paving granted for little-used Bicentennial Commons
18. Money spent on bike path instead of refurbishing city buildings for energy cost savings
19. THE STREETS and the lack of attention to them
20. THE INFRASTRUCTURE and the lack of attention to them
21. Randy and his recent story playing Santa to help acquire the service dog
22. Hermes, going along with Randy in his support of a pseudo pro football team with life-like talent

1.  City Officials involved in illegal electioneering on taxpayers' time and money using MMF.  Flyers distributed in City Manager's office.
 
2.  Few citizens are outraged by above.  How much lower can expectations for Middletown City Officials fall?
