Ohio's minimum wage is set to increase on January 1, 2008. Ohio's current wage is $6.85 but beginning tomorrow, the new minimum is $7.00 per hour.
The constitutional amendment passed by voters in November of 2006 states that Ohio's minimum wage shall increase on January 1 of each year by the rate of inflation. The increase is tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for urban wage earners and clerical workers of the prior 12-month period as of September 31, 2007.
