Wednesday, December 2, 2009 9:08:13 AM - Middletown Ohio

Is there any reason that the cemetery's #1 supporter and patron
saint (Vivian Moon)should not be trusted with the responsibility to open and close the cemetery? I don't think city employees nor the police have the responsibility to open and close the Arboretum? Is there a double standard here?

Yes, there is a reason.... the city doesn't like Vivian. Plain and simple. It's a personal vendetta. Any other city and/or community would LOVE to have a citizen like Vivian dedicate her time and money to something so that the city can spend in other areas... but not Middletown.

It is appalling the city manager and her accomplice, the city attorney, have shown such malice and disregard for Vivian Moon now affecting family members. It is a classless act and one which is a poor reflection upon Middletown. Someone should compare the police reports she referenced to previous periods when the city had the gates open. To close it during a weekend it petty and undoubtedly angers many families. Someone should pursue former Dean Cowan to replace Ms. G.- really mean spirited.
12/2/2009 2:00:15 PM DEMOLISH THE VAULT!!!!
Why all this fretting about a cemetery? Will anyone here admit that perhaps Ms. Moon has contributed to the problems she's experienced with City Hall? Saint Moon? Please, Mr. Wood. Spare me.

Don't we have bigger problems in this community than this cemetery? I read so many of you complain about the need to bring jobs to town, fix the roads, and improve infrastructure and how the city does little in those areas. It doesn't make sense that your knickers are in a knot over a vault that IS NOT EVEN THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE. Demolish it and be done with it. What's it used for now? Storage!

I'll buy you a nice shed from WalMart for you to store your tools in. In fact, I'll purchase one from a local business, Denny's Lumber.

If it weren't the "likable and saintly Ms. Moon" complaining about the situation at the cemetery, and it were, oh, someone who wasn't a MiddletownUSA darling, I bet you'd be writing that the city didn't have the money for such things.

I totally disagree with the City Manager. I hear every morning at 7:45 to 7:55 that the Monroe Police are sent on a detail to unlock the gate at the Mound Cemetery what does it take 5 minutes? I do not know what time the gates are locked there but you can bet the Monroe PD are the ones doing it. Where is she getting that she would have to pay overtime? Does the Middletown Police get overtime for locking and unlocking Smith Park? Give me a break. Give me a key I will go everyday at 8 am and 5 pm to lock and unlock the gate.

DEMOLISH THE VAULT, are you serious? The issue here is not the vault moron! Its the fact that the gates are closed on the weekends. If you don’t think that is uncalled for then you are one of the stupidest people reading comments here. The Vault wasn't even mentioned. And since you brought it up I will say that I could careless what they do with the vault, Mrs. moon and the City are both acting like children, but the it's the city that is supposed to be professional not petty. It seems you just have a problem with Mrs. Moon. Why don’t you go on down there and demo the vault yourself, then march over to Denny and buy that shed.
