The Division of Fire held its monthly EMS training on Summer Emergencies. Our guest instructor and Atrium Medical Center EMS Liaison, Mike Jett, reviewed topics on Heat Related Emergencies, Anaphylaxis, Drowning, Near Drowning, Fireworks Injuries, and Trauma related to Summer and Agricultural Activities. The session included lecture as well as practical exercises in the administration of medication for allergic reactions and application of traction splints necessary for femur fractures.
The Atrium Medical Center’s Emergency and Trauma Departments play a major role in providing the required training for the Division of Fire’s personnel.
