Months ago before Tuesday's failed school levy was placed on the ballot, a group of five concerned citizens made a contingency plan in case the levy failed. Just minutes after the levy was voted down, the group, led by Gregg Russell, presented their plan to the Middletown Board of Education. The plan involves raising funds for each extracurricular activity individually, not necessarily out of the pockets of those who wish to participate and their families, but from donations and funds raised by those who wish to participate. While there are no concrete plans as to how to get the funds yet, Russell states that they are 'open to anything'.
