Mural Painting Begins |
Tuesday, August 26, 2003 4:16:51 PM - Middletown Ohio |
After several months of preparation, the first brush strokes of the first in the Middletown Mural series will be applied this Thursday, August 28.
Funds were raised earlier this year for the outdoor art piece depicting historic Middletown. Then rainy weather and a delay in preparing the surface has led to the late August start for the muralist Eric Henn. Mr. Henn, who resides in Franklin, Ohio, has done many such huge art works on water towers, the Newport Aquarium and many other surfaces across the country.
The public is invited to watch the progress of the huge painting as it takes form on the south wall of the downtown parking garage that spans Broad Street. Best viewing will be from the newly opened Central Avenue intersection of Central and Broad.
When this piece is finished, a second mural will be applied to the opposite side of the parking garage and then other murals will be painted as funds and locations are matched.
For information about the project, call Middletown Mural committee chairperson, Judy Bober, at 705-4002.
