Steel Magnolias Dress Rehearsal to Benefit Middletown Murals! |
Wednesday, May 7, 2003 12:34:32 PM - Middletown Ohio |
Once again, two local organizations are joining together to benefit the community. When Rising Phoenix Theatre Company presents the play “Steel Magnolias,” the dress rehearsal “pay what you can” entrance fee will be given to Middletown Murals to help defray the costs of painting the outdoor art for the enjoyment of the entire community.
The one night benefit, on May 7, at the Temple Art Center, 4 N Main St in downtown Middletown will begin at 8 pm. Those attending will be asked to make a donation toward the mural project. The first of the Middletown Mural series will be painted beginning in mid-June on the south side of the Broad Street parking garage overpass, just a block from the theatre production.
A group of entertainment managers in Middletown have been meeting for two years, solving mutual problems and helping each other through the loan of materials and equipment and joint productions. The group, called “In Town” began as a joint marketing discussion and has grown into mutual benefit arrangements.
