Stolen Backup Tape Contains Sensitive State Info |

Governor Strickland stated Saturday that a backup tape stolen from the car of a state intern employee contained sensitive personal financial information for individuals, businesses, and school districts throughout Ohio. Some of the information included on the tape are:
- The names and bank account information for all Ohio local governments and school districts. - The names, tax identification numbers, addresses and bank account information for Medicaid providers such as nursing homes. - The names, Social Security numbers and State Teachers Retirement System numbers for 1,031 state employees who are in the teachers retirement system. - State-assigned numbers, addresses, phone numbers and electronic funds transfer banking information for 28,362 state employees and vendors.
