Mason Judge George Parker once had Mason's police chief arrested and also had a woman arrested for raising her hand to ask a question. For that he was suspended for 18 months and ordered to undergo psychotherapy.
Despite not being able to perform the duties of a judge until next year, Judge Parker will remain on the Nov. 6 ballot.
According to the Cincinnati Post, Bruce McGary, chief assistant prosecutor for Warren County said,
"There's no authority that we can find that requires his name to be removed, or the voters to be informed that any votes for him would not be counted."
Even the Ohio Secretary of State's office said that state law doesn't provide for removing the judge from the ballot this close to Election Day.
Parker is among five candidates in the race for the six-year term. He is in the last year of his first term.
Jack Rosen, a retired judge from Hamilton County, will hear Mason cases until a new judge is sworn in in January.
