I noticed today that I've joined the ranks of those who've had published reader comments removed after the fact by the MJ.

I posted the first response to a female city council member's inaccurate and derogatory comments about Miss Vivian Moon and the Historic Pioneer Cemetery at the most recent City Council meeting. My very early Wednesday morning posting noted that this female elected official's comments were omitted in the MJ news article.

Say it 'aint so MJ?ConfusedConfusedConfused

Dear Miss Vivian -

It's painfully obvious to a growing number of Middletonians that THE ALMIGHTY QUEEN OF MIDDLETOWN is always displeased when any one of her "servants" fails to toe the line! Be careful of the wrath of the QUEEN!

Like former President Harry Truman reportedly said, "Keep giving 'em Hell Miss Vivian!

Bobbie
I warned then Mayor Noah Powers in 2005 that the City of Middletown was not in compliance with ORC 4767 regarding the care of the cemetery and that I would file against them if conditions didn't improve. The battle between I and the City has been going on for 4 years however I didn't make it public until this year. I think I have given them more than enough time to step up to the plate and do the right thing..

Way to go Vivian. They may say you went "out of order" - however I think you were very fair by letting them know in advance that you would file against them if they did not do anything. You did more then you had to do as far as I am concerned. You should not have to tell the city to take care of their responsibilities. It almost seems to me some individuals think they are above what the law states they should do, as well as what they should do just out of respect.

Bobbie
They don't have time to hide or repair 60 years of neglect before the the State of Ohio makes their visit...plus I have hundreds of photos showing before and after conditions at the cemetery.

I would be very thankful if someone would come take care of my yard. I would keep track of any work that is done there as of now. Since the city is on notice that Vivian filed a report, I am sure the grass and weeds will be taken care of for awhile now. ]]> Thu, 18 Jun 2009 11:24:41 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1393&PID=7415&title=middletown-cemetery-fund#7415 Middletown Cemetery Fund : Based on the information that... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1393&PID=7410&title=middletown-cemetery-fund#7410 Author: VietVet

Based on the information that Vivian was advised to stop working at the cemetery by Gilleland, unless she had permission, I would suspect, based on the lack of appreciation from the city, that she would potentially be cited for attempting to mow the grass next door, without permission,of course! ]]> Thu, 18 Jun 2009 10:32:47 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1393&PID=7410&title=middletown-cemetery-fund#7410 Middletown Cemetery Fund : STATUS OFHOUSING CODE VIOLATION... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1393&PID=7401&title=middletown-cemetery-fund#7401 Author: Smokey Burgess

STATUS OF HOUSING CODE VIOLATION COMPLAINT FROM HISTORIC PIONEER CEMETERY VOLUNTEER STILL IGNORED BY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION DEPARTMENT

On Monday, June 1st, Miss Vivian Moon called a senior staff member of the Community Revitalization Department to report tall weeds and grass at a vacant house next to her residence. Now, some 17 days later the City of Middletown continues to ignore this reported problem. Is this an oversight or retaliation against her??ConfusedConfusedConfused

Note: all of last year Miss Moon was forced to maintain the yard at the property adjacent to her because she could get no satisfaction from the City of Middletown!!AngryAngryAngry
