Yes, it's a sad thing that many in Middletown are poor, and it definitely affects the home lives of a very large percentage of our students.<br><br>The school board can be criticized though, parents can't. The blame for all the schools' problems only has one target to aim for, whether it's right or wrong.<br>]]>

This number is higher for the disadvantaged."</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>"4 in 10 young people say their parents are not involved in their educations."</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Middletown City Schools has almost 60% disadvantaged students. Some schools are almost 100% disadvantaged.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>How do you think this lack of parental involvement - and the disadvantaged rate - affects the ability of the schools to meet AYP and provide an effective education for 'all' students, including those whose parents are involved and who are not economically disadvantaged?</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>
