Whoa, Swoh!!!

Perhaps YOU should "lighten" up!!!

Or did one of my little satirical digs struck a nerve? Was it the jab at the self-serving faux history buffs who are always looking for public funds for their own self-interests???

Or was it the poke at the elitists who can be led to call anything "art" if the correct snobby Pied Piper does so first???

Maybe have some of our local inmates do the work, or have individuals in the city do a work program to pay off some tickets that they can not pay because of loss of jobs. ]]> Fri, 19 Mar 2010 12:02:21 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2825&PID=17648&title=new-bus-stop-shelters#17648 New Bus Stop Shelters : Contact the local lumber yards,... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2825&PID=17640&title=new-bus-stop-shelters#17640 Author: VietVet

Contact the local lumber yards, Lowe's and Home Depot for donated materials. Contact Butler Tech or another vocational school in the area, to suggest this as a class project with labor done by the students to build these. Money saver perhaps???? Put some of the unemployed people in Middletown to work by asking for volunteers to help construct these from a blueprint for standardization. Cheap labor and helps some of the folks earn some income. Just suggestions.]]> Fri, 19 Mar 2010 10:14:21 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2825&PID=17640&title=new-bus-stop-shelters#17640 New Bus Stop Shelters : There probably will not be bids... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2825&PID=17633&title=new-bus-stop-shelters#17633 Author: Hermes

There probably will not be bids as this is all free money that will build them. So no need to pinch that dollar. And new shelters will create jobs, bring in the tourist & make the city more attractive. How many did we purchase?
What is the cost of these new improved bus shelters?
Did we get bids on these new shelters?

Taken from the March 14, 2010 City Managers Weekly Update

As part of the transportation grant that we were recently awarded, we will be replacing bus stop shelters around town. As you know, most of our current shelters are severely deteriorated. This project will contribute to our overall plan of refreshing and replacing our city infrastructure.
