    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=14">Pacman</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2883<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Apr&nbsp;07&nbsp;2010 at 7:54pm<br /><br />You know no one wants to see the Cabinet Shop leave but I too get tired of these convoluted deals that go on basically behind closed doors and then get voted on by Council with few if any questions, especially by the Old standby crowd.&nbsp; The cabinet Shop owners little talk last night was all&nbsp;fine and well and him not wanting to be in debt great for him, but why should my and your tax dollars go to keep him from paying moving expenses and even Capital gains taxes on his property.&nbsp; Those are his&nbsp;business expenses and not my expenses which should be paid by our tax dollars. <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>This has nothing to do with how nice his cabinets are, how great his little shop is or anything else.&nbsp; This is about spending money that the city doesn't have and we as citizens shouldn't have to spend.&nbsp; Once again I'll go back to the pool situation.&nbsp; Can't have a pool because we can't afford it, can't repair the pool because we can't afford it.&nbsp; It is always the same story when it comes to the everyday citizen and what they may want their tax dollars spent on.....we can't afford it, is the mantra that we also hear from the city&nbsp;and then a deal like this comes up.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Yeah, yeah&nbsp;I know it is HUD money or some triple top secret fund that the money came from and it can only be spent for this and that.&nbsp; Personally I am tired of hearing that excuse also.</DIV>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=14">Pacman</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2883<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Apr&nbsp;07&nbsp;2010 at 7:42pm<br /><br /><FONT size=2>This cabinet shop is listed as being&nbsp;on Central Ave. not Vail although county records show the Business address as Vail go figure.&nbsp; Parcel number if you want to look at it is Q6532004000025 .&nbsp; </FONT><DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=2>So for whatever reason the city wants the cabinet shop&nbsp;land have the cabinet shop and Diver do a land swap and then have a double closing where the city buys the old Cabinet shop from Diver for $85K still nice profit for Diver and the cabinet shop can pay their own moving expenses, unless of course Spiders story is true and the City hired&nbsp;wrecking crew tore up the Sewer then let the wrecking crew or their insurance company&nbsp;pay for the move.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><FONT size=2></FONT><FONT size=1>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV></FONT>]]>

This would explain the city's persistence and quiet involvement in this on-going fiasco. So much for the successful marraige of the planning dept. and ED. Look for this situation to continue undar the radar. Hopefully our responsible Council members will continue to keep us informed!]]>

Paychex perhaps? and what other company?????? Most of his accomplishments have been of the three to ten employee increase/lower salary ($12/hour or less) variety with existing businesses only- no new employers, right?<br /><br />No, the city gives us all evidence that it will work only with the businesses that are owned by some of their inner circle business buddies and the rest are left to fend for themselves according to some of the business owners here. ]]>
