randy- it should also be noted that Mike Presta, esteemed senior citizen, is old enough to have attended the old South School on S. Main St. (around 1965) before they tore it down to make the park. The "Fenwick Tradition" began over fifty years ago when the need for a Catholic high school in Middletown was realized. The school takes its name from Bishop Edward D. Fenwick, the first bishop of Cincinnati. Fenwick's first home was Old South School (built in 1872). In need of extensive repairs, the historic building was renovated by the faculty, parishioners and prospective students. Fenwick's first principal, Rev. Julian Krusling, presided over the opening day ceremonies held on August 21, 1952.
