The Fox (Steve Husemann and Judy Gilleland) have been in the chicken/ hen house since Husemann came in to make $75,000 to find Ms. Gilleland. Then Ms. Gilleland hires him to assist her in job Steve got her. This insane circle if friends and connections is and has been, a nightmare since Bill Becker was given his gift as city manager to boost his salary before retirement. I've lived in a lot of great cities, Middletown isn't one of them, but never experienced the degree of open cronyism in my life.

If Husemann's position is salary exempt, he should not be earning any more than $75,000 no matter how many extra duties he takes on. Exempt positions don't get paid for overtime, no matter how many hours they work. Now, I realize that this is the city building public sector people we are talking about and the inner circle to boot and they do what they dam well please, but that is the way it is SUPPOSE to work. ]]> Thu, 15 Mar 2012 13:12:01 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4451&PID=32299&title=dave-duritsch-leaving#32299 Dave Duritsch leaving : City Manager Weekly UpdateMarch... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4451&PID=32297&title=dave-duritsch-leaving#32297 Author: Vivian Moon

City Manager Weekly Update
March 14, 2012

Organizational Changes

Dave Duritsch has accepted a position with the City of Kettering and will be leaving toward the end of this month. We wish him the best of luck in his new position!
I have named Steve Husemann as Interim Public Works Director until we determine the best course of action. Steve will handle Public Works, Utilities and the HR Director position, still on a part-time basis, but adding more hours to his schedule. We keep Steve busy in his retirement.

Well it seems with all these extra hours Steve will be making more than $75,000 this year…

Bill
Wait until Cincy State opens in September and the citizens of Middletown see what they are really getting for all the money they have invested in Downtown.
The spin doctors at City Hall will not have enough perfume to cover up that pile of do-do.
Wait till you see what is about to happen within the next three weeks at city council meetings.

This is all about pleasing the 150 "Special People" of Middletown while the rest of us are on our own.

“We were also experiencing budget reductions, so we reduced the department head count by one, and we consolidated Ginger’s department into David’s department, (the Public Utilities Department),” Gilleland said. “This move gave David a much more broad base of operations, and allowed him to gain skills in some areas that he had not had before — and saved the city money.”

Ms Judy’s department changes since she was hired have been a disaster…
So Ms Judy where did Mr Adkins job come from?
”Saved the city money”…I think not

Vivian, upon Judy's arrival years ago many tried to bend her ear to what the priorities in town should be. I know she was warned to beware of the downtown preservationists and not to hitch her wagon to that failing area. Sadly, I'm sure she heard the opposite from many more vociferous firewallers. And so we know which way she went on that journey. Sad sad sad.]]> Wed, 14 Mar 2012 11:12:30 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4451&PID=32282&title=dave-duritsch-leaving#32282 Dave Duritsch leaving : Also would be interesting to know... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4451&PID=32280&title=dave-duritsch-leaving#32280 Author: 409

Guess we need to hurry up & get AJ's "Cost analysis of providing health insurance and other
benefits to employee's domestic partners" finalized so we find the best & brightest minds. Unhappy
