Changing insurance saves district $41K

MIDDLETOWN — 

TheMiddletown City Schools District changed insurance carriers, a move that willsave taxpayers $41,000 a year, said George Long, business manager.

Hesaid the district stayed with the same agent, Insurance Associates in Middletown, but changedfrom Liberty Mutual to Wright Risk Management for its property, liability andauto insurance.

Longsaid the cost will be $170,152 for the one-year term, a savings of $41,467 fromthe previous year’s quotes. He said the coverage mirrors what the districtreceived with Liberty Mutual.

Hesaid Insurance Associates invited more bidders and the lowest was Wright Risk,“a new player” in the school market.
