Looks very nice—-better than many of the surrounding homes!

Was wondering what those staying there will do with their time—-no near-by local markets or businesses for shopping/employment.
What will the residents do with their time? Is there a dining facility inside? Training/education classes? Parenting classes at Sonny Hill center?

Are we simply spending big $$$ to shift the issue out of the former downtown in to a residential area?
Are the neighbors ok with this?

Author: VietVet
Subject: 6965
Posted: Nov 06 2019 at 5:59pm

Would vote for Muterspaw in a heartbeat. If he were able to do the city manager's job as well as he performed as police chief, it would do a 180 in changing my opinions of this city government that I have had for decades. He is a hometown boy with first hand knowledge pertaining to the climate and direction of the city and it's many issues.

If we could get the recycled thinking council people like Joe Mulligan and Moon off council, we just might elicit change in thinking and city direction. Otherwise, we have only robots pushing the MMF agenda and that does regular folks living here no favors. It was a start extricating Larry Mulligan and his predictable MMF thinking. Need to follow that up with the other Mulligan when his term is finished. I say give Condrey a chance and a learning curve time period before lowering the boom. Even old Larry Mulligan had a starting point as a mayor and council person. He had his chances for 12 years and never changed his tune. The man is in his 50's and, while never leaving the city, never learned what Middletown was all about.

IMO, going outside for a city manager candidate just might get us an unwanted former city manager from another city. I offer Elizabeth Lolli as an example in the schools. She became a problem in the Middletown schools and went to Monroe with the same negative scene there and now is the Dayton superintendent and their problem child right now. These bad players just start making the circuit taking their issues from town to town leaving a path of negative results behind. The same could happen with a city manager from outside. We know what we would get with Muterspaw and have the added benefit of him knowing the complexion of the city and taking ownership as a home town resident. He adds the important aspect of being a personable, common sense, approachable candidate as well.

Moon is a non factor just like Joe Mulligan is on new idea contributions IMO. Both seem to just occupy a council chair. Glad to finally see Mulligan voted out. Waited a long time for that. I see Nenni as a downtown business owner ally joining Amy Vitori. Right or wrong, I see them tunnel focused on the downtown area to foster their businesses while disregarding the other parts of town as to development. Could them being on council, and making decisions concerning downtown, while owning businesses there, be a conflict of interest? Dunno. Voted for Condrey, Cramer and Wittman. Would like to have seen the beginning of incumbent removal and housecleaning on council. Got it with the Mulligan removal but would have liked to have seen Moon gone too. JMO
