Cincinnati council members are being indicted for doing citygovernment business outside of regular meetings. That violation ofthe open meetings Sunshine Law was practiced in Middletown for years and remains their standard of operation.That’s the reason that citizens have no control over councilwhatsoever.

And worse, DougAtkins twisted the meaning of the law and held sway over new or naivecouncil with threat of prosecution if they spoke to any citizenabout city business outside of council meetings. Other long timecouncil members knew better but evidently it has served their purposetoo well.
