Journal story today about the closure. Mentioned that Schiavone won't comment on the advice from his attorney about a pending lawsuit. Wonder what that's all about??? Don't tell me the Voner's in trouble!!! ]]> Tue, 10 Feb 2009 06:46:00 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4249&title=bbq-junction#4249 BBQ Junction : swohio75 wrote:Did the City... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4248&title=bbq-junction#4248 Author: Mike_Presta

Swohio: You are correct. The loan did come from Butler County. However, the source of the money was still the TAXPAYERS!!!

They had a good lunch menu, I would go there for their last day, but a wise man once told me that going to a restaurant on their last day is a bad idea. ]]> Mon, 09 Feb 2009 10:24:14 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4240&title=bbq-junction#4240 BBQ Junction : Did the City of Middletown give... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4238&title=bbq-junction#4238 Author: swohio75

MM- Is there a stipulation that a business, who received a loan from the city, pay it back if in business for less than a year? If so, it will be interesting to see if that happens, given one of the previous owners is a councilman. Drove past the place yesterday. Wasn't open long enough to take down the remodeling banner. Another victim of the economy. Looks like 10 for $10 items at the discount grocery stores and the dollar menues at the fast food places are the only areas of business that are doing fairly well. ]]> Mon, 09 Feb 2009 06:56:49 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4233&title=bbq-junction#4233 BBQ Junction : Oh, here's another thought. Grant money from the City of Middletown to START a business?
Never heard of it. We tried with the city in 2003 to see what they had to offer and nada,,,,,,,,you actually had to own the building.

I, too, hate to hear of any business going under. I liked the food. I miss the old Damons still.

Grant money shouldn't be use to open resturants when there is so many other projects that the money could have been used on. ]]> Sun, 08 Feb 2009 21:59:53 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4228&title=bbq-junction#4228 BBQ Junction : I have to agree with Spider hate... http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=947&PID=4218&title=bbq-junction#4218 Author: Pacman
