The program is called Operation Welcome Home I believe. I can't imagine why veterans wouldn't be welcomed in any community as opposed to some of the lesser wanted options.

Middletown has many vacant parcels of land. Irving Texas has vacant parcels of land. Irving is donating the land to build these houses. Would Middletown be able to do the same?

Irving Texas has set up a network where the builders association donates the materials and home planning and the volunteers, under construction industry scrutiny, builds the homes to meet the local codes in carpentry, electrical and plumbing.

Just wondering if this might be applied locally as a solution to all the vacant lots we know Middletown has at the moment. I do know there have been houses built in town using this format where the new owners put some "sweat equity" into the new house they will occupy. This might be an alternative to this as well.

Just a thought.

This seems to have developed overnight as we had no early indications that Hamilton was headed in the wrong direction. Thought Butler county, as a whole, was doing better in reducing overdoses.

We have recently read where Middletown was enjoying a reduction of overdoses thanks to the task force setup by the city to respond more rapidly to those who overdose. We have also heard from the Chief of Police telling us things were improving as to overdoses in the city.

This latest news gives reason to suspect that all is really not as reported in Hamilton OR Middletown as to the real drug overdose scene in the two cities.

Just wonder how frequent the Narcan treatments are as to numbers actually being reported. One could have doubts as to what is reported at times.

The Washington politicians called the shots during the war. The military was left hanging out to dry. Washington would not let the military win the war. Played the game of gaining ground on one day just to lose it the next day. Terrible waste of men. The protests were directed toward the wrong people.....the soldier. Unlike today, the people hated the military at the time. Glad to see the military appreciated now after all these years.

It is a shame we never will be able to make those who were really to blame pay the price.
